The executive Chairman of Sociology and Anthropology Class of 2001/2002 of Imo State University Owerri, Comrade Nnamdi Iyioku, has joined the global community, Nigeria, lmo State and the entire members of their association in celebrating women across the globe, especially the hardworking, strong and resilient women of their alumni group on the occasion of the 2026 International Women’s Day.
According to him, “Women are the strong backbone of every family and society and also the foundation of every progressive society. The sacrifices made by Women can’t be over emphasized when considering the current economic hardship and economic meltdown encountered by Women in lmo state and across Nigeria. The strength, wisdom, dedication, commitment and contributions towards our greater society helps in shaping moral, economic and social growth globally”.
He noted that no society can survive without recognizing the contributions of Women and the support of Women in nation building. Women he noted play irreplaceable role in building a functional and sustainable, democratic society and also as mothers, caregiver, leaders, entrepreneurs and building peaceful homes.
He further added, “as we celebrate and honour the unshakeable strength, resilience and the boundless potential of Women globally. Let me express my sincere gratitude and also remind our Women that you are the architect of change, breaking barriers and lifting families and communities, support each other in building equal and inclusive society that works for everyone and not for the selected few and also chase your dreams unapologetically. My warmth appreciation and heartfelt congratulations to all the Women, praying that their courage, strength will continue to shine and inspire generations yet unborn”.
