In a well-attended and colourful ceremony held at Greatwood Hotel, Owerri, the Action People’s Party (APP) Imo State Chapter flagged off its membership registration exercise in grand style, marking a significant milestone in its efforts to building a strong and credible political platform for the people of Imo State.
Determined to mobilize at least one million Imolites, particularly eligible and registered voters into its fold, the state leadership of the APP, under the Interim State Executive Committee led by Hon. Ernest Njesi, inaugurated Local Government Area (LGA) Membership Registration Committees across all 27 LGAs of the state.
In his address, Njesi charged members of the Registration Committees to open the doors of the party wide and welcome all interested individuals, irrespective of their previous political affiliations, who have shown genuine interest in joining the Elephant Party.
According to Hon. Njesi, the APP is committed to providing a formidable, credible, strong and reliable political alternative for the people of Imo State. He stressed that the party remaind the only viable hope to rescueing the state from the reign of impunity, rascality, lawlessness, collapsed economy, and dilapidated infrastructure that have characterised governance in our dear state
The chairman urged all Imolites to seize the opportunity to join the APP and contribute to the development of the state, assuring them that the party is poised to offer a new direction and a brighter future for Imo people.
In their separate remarks, the State Deputy Chairmen, State Woman Leader, Legal Adviser and Youth Leader congratulated the newly inaugurated LGA Registration Committee members and charged them to carry out the assignment as proud ambassadors of the party in their respective local government areas.
The APP membership registration exercise is scheduled to commence simultaneously on November 24, 2025, across all 305 wards in the state. The party invites all eligible citizens to participate in the registration and join the collective struggle for a better Imo State.
The APP is confident that, with the support of the people, it will not only emerge as a major political force in the 2027 elections but will provide the purposeful leadership that Imo State truly deserves.
Other highlights of the event included the official presentation and adoption of the party’s slogan and anthem, which were unanimously approved as true reflections of the local realities and aspirations of the people of Imo State.
