The Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties and the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general election to represent Ideato North and South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Dr. Chika Benson Abazu has stated in clear terms that the people of the Ideato Nation have not had any sound representation since the current representative, Hon. Ikenga Ugochineyere assumed the office in 2023.
The renowned Surgeon who retired as Director in the Federal Civil Service of the country made this disclosure while interacting with media executives in Owerri the Imo State capital during the week. He insisted that the people of Ideato Nation have never had it so bad in terms of representation at the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly until the current representative whom he accused of speaking beyond his capacity assumed the office.
Dr. Abazu while emphasizing on the benefits of what a good representative should be, noted that Hon. Ikenga Ugochineyere has not given the people of Ideato Nation a sound representation and urged him to use his remaining time at the National Assembly to better the lots of his people than disrespecting the Governor of the State.
He used the medium to caution him to forthwith, stop insulting the Governor of the State, His Excellency Sen. Hope Uzodinma. He further added that the energy and time the federal lawmaker uses in insulting the Governor could be channeled to lobbying in order to attract dividends of democracy to his people but he chosed to dance to the gallery in order to gain cheap popularity.
Commending the State Governor, His Excellency, Sen. Hope Uzodinma for turning the entire state into a construction site, the result oriented Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties appreciated the Governor for given the people of Ideato Nation reasons to smile again as major roads leading to the Constituency which were in terrible conditions to receive adequate attention and standard repair.
Disrcibing the Governor as a man who meant well for the state, the Akokwa, Ideato North born technocrat stated that the good intentions of the governor have turned things around and would continue to make things better for the people in general. He noted that the governor has used every resources meant for the state development to invest on things that will develop the state and sooner or later, the people will begin to befits to the fullest the dividends of every efforts of the governor.
Speaking on the relationship between the governor and federal government, Dr. Abazu hinted that the cordial relationship which exist between the Governor and the President has brought a lot of benefits to the state. He pointed out that the Renewed Ambassador Coordinator appointment given to the Governor by the President was a clear indication that the governor is on top of his game and would use every opportunity to attract things for the benefits of our people of the state.
He used the opportunity to call on the people of the state to continue to support Governor Hope Uzodinma’s administration.
