Permit me to state from the onset that the political cycle in Ideato nation of 2011 to 2019 represents the darkest part of the Ideato nation political past liability that still remains very fresh in the minds of our people and our voters. It represents what my dear friend and brother Dr. Ndubueze Muoneke [who sadly, lost family country home and ancestral land to that gully erosion] called the “..locust years..” of Ideato Federal Constituency in particular, when our sons were at the helm of affairs and in absolute control of the state and the resources.
We need a clean break from that political cycle. Incidentally, l was part of that political cycle as the founding member of the first State Exco of our great party APC representing Ideato North as State Assistant Financial Secretary. Those that understand the functionality of our party system eve today, know the limitations.
That era was almost the product of the 2023 political actors in the Ideato nation that led to the loss to the opposition in 2023. In my view our party needs a clean break from that past. And anyone with traceable court cases linking EFCC/ICPC can not be part of the clean break the Ideato nation is looking for.
It’s not about throwing away experience. We value experience. It’s about changing the perception and giving the voters a breath of fresh air. Enough of recycling the old with bitter tastes in voters’ mouths every four years.
Candidate should emerge based on grassroot structures and clean records. Show us your up to 12 months visibility in our wards before the election campaign. You can not just show up during the time of election with cosmetic abracadabra…. the more you look, the less you see activities because it is time for election.
Where have you been since the last election? What did you do for the wards in the last three years leading up to the election?
Our great party should present a candidate that the entire party would rally around from ward to ward, local government to local government. And we should as a matter of urgency, immediately the candidate emerges, our great party should set-up high powered conflict resolution and reconciliation committee to meet with all the aspirants and leaders in all the wards to rally around the candidate.
We need a clean break. An APC candidate with capacity and acceptance who can unite both LGAs and can pull 35-40 thousand votes.
Clean-break without the despicable nightmarish bagages of the LOCUST YEARS of cankerworms and caterpillars.
A break, as clean as Orlu Umuchima Urualla, Akokwa interstate high way. A clean break even to the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for a new ideato nation of our collective hopes and aspirations.
I need not to remind us that families at Umuchima lost their homes and family inheritance to that gully erosion that was practically man made and wickedly left to detoriate to were ideato nation was completely cut off from the rest of the State until the REAL RESCUE mission from the Most Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma ONWA the Executive Governor Imo State rescued us from extinction.
You don’t beat a formidable incumbent by rebranding and repackaging the past. You beat him by presenting someone with a better ideas, ideals and a vision for a better future for Ideato nation, that the peace loving people of Ideato nation can relate to and believe in; without the iota of remembrance of the 2011-2019 locust years and their products.ic
